“Real Ninja” written by Hirohisa Oda, Ph. D. Med.
I met Dr. Oda a few months ago and he gave me one of his books to read called “Real Ninja”. I found this book to be extremely fascinating as I learned more and more about what ninjas did and how they did it. Dr. Oda is educated in medicine & acupuncture, and has a real passion for history (which is evident in his book).
Ninjas were undoubtedly the best spies of their time. Mostly blending into society to gather intelligence about their enemy for their employers. Since ninjas were secretive about their identities, they were not “respected” in the way the Samurai were. They definitely had their place in espionage and altered the course of Japanese history with their work.
